A 2-week immersive family experience in Enonkishu Conservancy, on the edge of the Maasai Mara

For families who want something deeper than a holiday.

Be the first to hear dates, pricing, and early access

This isn’t a typical trip…

Most safaris are over in a few days.
You see the animals, take the photos… and leave.

This is different.

This is a chance to slow down, settle in, and actually experience life in the Mara as a family.

To give your children something far more valuable than a holiday:
context, connection, and real-world learning.

What your family will experience

Over two weeks, your family will live inside a private conservancy, with a rhythm designed for learning, not rushing.

Safari, but done properly

Not back-to-back drives.
But 6 guided safari expeditions, spaced out and intentional.

Your children will:

  • learn to track animals
  • understand ecosystems
  • begin to see the landscape differently

Culture & Connection

Spend meaningful time with the Maasai community:

  • beadwork and traditional crafts
  • storytelling and local knowledge
  • medicinal plants and ways of living

This is not a performance — it’s real interaction.

Hands-on learning

Children learn best by doing.

They’ll take part in:

  • growing food in the shamba
  • local cooking
  • horse care and feeding
  • practical, everyday life skills

Space to be children

This is not a packed itinerary.

There is time for:

  • free play
  • nature journaling
  • creativity
  • exploring safely

Because that’s where the real learning happens.

For parents, too

This works because it works for you as well….

  • No rushing between activities
  • No overstimulation
  • No pressure to “make the most of it”

Just a slower, more grounded way of travelling — together.

Why families choose us…

Families join because they want:

✔ meaningful travel, not surface-level tourism
✔ their children to learn through real experiences
✔ time together that actually feels like time together
✔ exposure to different cultures and ways of life
✔ a balance of structure and freedom

The Value

But when you break it down, it includes:

  • 14 nights inside a private conservancy
  • all meals
  • guided safari experiences
  • cultural workshops, storytelling, beading and medicinal plants
  • daily activities, horse care, tracking and bushcraft, traditional cooking, swimming pool, conservation talk, community projects, and downtime for journaling/reading/free play
  • visit to the endangered rhino sanctuary
  • conservancy fees
  • a small, curated group of families

And something harder to quantify:

A completely different way for your children to experience the world.

A stay that gives back

Your participation contributes directly to:

  • supporting local children to experience the Mara
  • education initiatives in the community
  • conservation awareness

Your family doesn’t just visit — you become part of something.

Extend your journey (optional).

You also have the option to extend your stay if you wish. There are lots of options, including some time at the coast.

A week in Lamu offers a completely different kind of learning:

  • Swahili culture and history
  • dhow sailing and ocean life
  • local markets, food, and architecture
  • a slower, coastal rhythm

From savannah to sea — it becomes a layered, unforgettable experience.

Alternatively, you can continue your safari to other destinations in Kenya including Samburu, Ol Pajeta, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and many more. I can arrange all of this for you; just let me know what you would like to do.

Who is this for?

This is a good fit if you:

  • have children who are curious and love being outdoors
  • value experience over luxury for the sake of it
  • are open to a slower pace of travel
  • want your children to engage with the world, not just observe it

No prior homeschooling or worldschooling experience needed.

Keep it small, keep it special

We intentionally keep this to a small group:

  • 6–8 families
  • limited accommodation
  • a more personal, connected experience

Spaces are very limited.

Natasha Africa Safari Expert

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Natasha — the person behind this worldschooling hub.

For years, I’ve been helping families experience East Africa in a way that goes beyond a typical safari. Not just seeing the wildlife and beautiful places, but actually connecting with the people, landscapes, and slower rhythm of life here.

What matters most to me is creating experiences that feel:

  • genuine rather than overly polished
  • immersive rather than rushed
  • meaningful rather than performative

I’m also a mother myself and a big believer that some of the most valuable learning children experience happens outside of traditional classrooms, through travel, nature, culture, relationships, and real life.

That belief is really at the heart of this hub.

This isn’t about creating a perfectly curated “activity schedule.”
It’s about creating the space for:

  • curiosity
  • confidence
  • connection
  • and unforgettable shared experiences as a family

Over the years, I’ve spent over 12 years living and travelling the African continent including Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Uganda, South Africa and beyond. I work within the safari world, building relationships with guides, camps, conservancies, and local communities. The experiences included in this hub come from those real relationships and from wanting families to experience the Mara in a more grounded and authentic way.

I also know travelling as a family, especially somewhere unfamiliar, can feel like a big leap.

So one of the things I care about most is making families feel supported from the moment they enquire to the moment they arrive. I want this to feel exciting, inspiring, and manageable — not overwhelming.

The families who tend to be drawn to this experience are usually looking for something a little different:

  • less rushing
  • more connection
  • less pressure to constantly “do”
  • more time to actually experience where they are

If that sounds like your kind of travel, I think you’ll feel very at home here.
